Chamber Music at the Highest Level – Schlern Music 2026

From 13 to 17 May 2026, the international chamber music festival Schlern Music will take place for the fifth time.
The festival brings together internationally renowned musicians for a series of exclusive concerts dedicated to the idea of making music together among friends. The artistic direction is in the hands of a musician couple living in the region: flutist Chiara Tonelli and conductor and cellist Philipp von Steinaecker. For the festival they invite distinguished musical colleagues and friends, including Veronika Hagen of the Hagen Quartett, Martin Zalodek of the Vienna Philharmonic, and Andrea Obiso, concertmaster of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome.
The concerts are always embedded in a culinary setting characteristic of Fiè and its winemakers – a combination of music, landscape and regional hospitality that makes this festival truly unique.
The programme focuses on works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Johannes Brahms, complemented by carefully selected compositions by other major composers. Hallmarks of Schlern Music include deliberately chosen, rarely heard chamber music formations, an intimate atmosphere, and extraordinary venues – including historic residences, private courtyards, a traditional craft workshop and Prösels Castle.
Schlern Music combines musical excellence, personal proximity between artists and audience, unconventional concert settings and, above all, the genuine joy of friends making music together – and all of this with free admission to the concerts!
